G.I. Joe ROC Heavy Duty 12/26-1/1

Now that the perpetual roller coaster ride that is Christmas is over we can all get back to a little normalcy. I hope everyone got what they asked for and more importantly enjoyed a day filled with good health and fun with family and friends! My older brother, just in from out of town, like always “hooked me up” with an  XBOX 360 and some other sports related gifts as well as MLB 2k11 and an extra controller! Thanks  to my brother i can finally put away my old-gen XBOX and come out of the dark ages with a little 360 action 😉 Older brothers..ya gotta love em’!Thanks bro 🙂 Things were pretty tight around here lately so the gifts did not come in abundance this year although my girlfriend was able to score a couple cheap items off of  Ebay for me,one was 6 bucks and the other just $4.Both are super cool though and i’ll be posting pics of them as soon as they arrive..thanks babe 😉  My little ones  really made out with the youngest scoring an Easy Bake oven which was quickly put to the test  when we decided that it would be cool to have chocolate chip cookies for breakfast. My two oldest received a bunch of cool gadgetry and cool tech stuff as well as a scooter that i’ll be putting together sometime this week.Aside from the usual stress filled moments that last minute shopping and early store closings can burden us with,it was all well worth it!I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and a nostalgia filled 2012!Now that we’ve got that squared away i would like to kick this week off with a continuance of  last weeks tribute to the new G.I. Joe Retaliation trailer by posting some ROC figures along with some scenes from the movie.Enjoy everyone!

G.I. Joe ROC Duke 12/19-12/26

Here is one of  the many variations of  Duke from the G.I. Joe ROC movie  action figure line.In fact i think this may have been the first version of Duke to hit the pegs when these movie figures first released.I have to say that out of all the Dukes that came out for this line this one is my favorite. The funny thing is that this figure represents Duke before he joins the Joe team, which to me makes this version that much cooler.JDubG over at Metal Borgs posted about this figure a couple weeks back, check it out when you get the chance.

The CORPS! Action Ready 3 Man Recon

I picked this up a while back and figured it was about time that i post about it. This is that 5 dollar set that you see warming the pegs in your local Wal-Mart’s  toy aisle hanging hopelessly next to the 30th ann. Joe’s trying desperately to fit in,and although these figures don’t get 1/4 of the attention other more popular toy brands receive i really love em’!Here we have Alex Brody A.K.A.” Rucker”, Zander Baptiste A.K.A “Crash” and Marcus Dundee A.K.A. “Rip”!This set also comes with a motorcycle that while not top quality, still serves it’s purpose.

G.I. Joe ROC Storm Shadow

In celebration of  the new G.I. Joe :Retaliation trailer sneak-peak,i figured I  would do some G.I. Joe ROC  figure posts with corresponding scenes from the not so celebrated movie. Here we have the original ROC Storm Shadow and while the movie version of his uniform is missing the Cobra insignia everything else is pretty much spot-on.

1988 G.I. Joe A.R.A.H. Super Trooper (Mail-in) 12/12-12/18

My first ever figure “mail-in” experience was in 1988 when i sent away for what i thought was the most amazing looking figure in the G.I. Joe universe…. “Super Trooper”!All chromed out!As a kid i remember seeing the “Super Trooper” commercial on television and wanting it so bad!My friends and i would sit around and talk about what action figures were on our radar and Super Trooper would always come up in our conversations.I was getting ready to take a trip with my dad down to Florida but before we left   I took it upon myself  to collect the 4 certificates needed to send away for  the figure  and ultimately did.My mom had stayed behind and i remember calling her every other day from Florida to ask her if my “Super Trooper” had come in the mail yet LOL! I must have driven her crazy! Before leaving Florida to come back home i decided to make one last call to see if it had arrived and indeed it had. This particular figure i picked up on eBay with his shield and helmet a few years back .He’s missing his rifle and file card  but still serves it’s purpose looking cool as ever on display next to my other Joes!I have him holding a rifle that came with one of my G.I. Joe ROC figures.Enjoy the pics!
