Dollar General G.I. Joe -Shipwreck

I spent close to a month dipping in and out of my local Dollar General in search of these elusive little suckers only to be let down with each visit.I was starting to feel like one of those Bigfoot field researchers who traverse the forests of Kentucky only to be disappointed with their findings,or lack there of. I certainly wasn’t about to start doing a Bigfoot like Hasbro G.I. Joe call in the middle of  the toy aisle because  frankly that would have freaked out the nice people working and shopping at Dollar General,so my hunt for the exclusive Joe figures would ultimately come to an end.Enter KJ , CODE NAME : Buzzchuck  😉 I gotta give a crazy shout out to Buzz from Action Figure Adventures for not only sending me an awesome  assortment of action figures, but for also including this Dollar General Shipwreck figure.Of all the figures from this line,Shipwreck was the figure I wanted the most and thanks to Buzz I can finally add him to my collection!

Bo Knows Thanksgiving!

I’d like to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving and seeing as how Football goes hand in hand with the holiday ,what better way to celebrate it than with this Kenner Starting Lineup Bo Jackson figure! This is from the “Heisman Collection” which features players who won the achievement in there respective college uniforms.I’ll keep it short because I know you have better and more important things to do on this Thanksgiving day so be sure to catch the parade, eat lots of Turkey and make a permanent dent in whatever couch you sit on after getting your grub on!

1995 Marvel ToyBiz – Sunfire

As much as I love these 90’s ToyBiz figures,I feel like they’ve taken over the blog as of late and I really can’t wait to do some Joe posts.I’ll still have them on my radar but I’m pretty confident that this will be the last ToyBiz related post that I’ll be doing in a long time.Buzzchuck really did me a favor in sending me this awesome figure seeing  as how I had been wanting to pick it up for a while now.Sunfire was a character that I got familiar with back in the early ’90s  as he made several appearances in various issues of X-Men comic books  I owned as a kid.The cool thing about it is that this is is exactly how he looked. While alot of these ToyBiz figures are based off of the X-Men animated series,I can’t say that I remember  seeing Sunfire in any of the episodes.I love the figure, though, and gotta give crazy thanks to Buzz for passing him on to me 😉

1995 ToyBiz Fantastic 4 – Gorgon 11/19-11/25

Before I get into the rest of the ultimately cool stuff  Buzzchuck sent to  me a couple of days ago ,i’d like to go over a recent acquisition that i’m pretty excited about. The other day, I think it was Colin over at Super Duper Toy Box,featured the Inhumans on one of his comic book posts and it reminded me of how much I liked that particular team of characters. I quickly jumped online to see if I could score an action figure of Black Bolt,my favorite of the bunch, but to no avail.I was, however, lucky enough to find this Gorgon figure carded for less than 5 bucks and free shipping!I’m serious guy’s,these ToyBiz figures are everywhere and cheap if you dig deep enough.I remember watching an episode of the 90’s F4 cartoon and watching Gorgon go up against Thing and instantly loving the character. He’s a bruiser and I love bruisers! This figure is awesome and looks sick when posed next to other figures holding his weapons. He comes with the typical ToyBiz gimmick which allows Gorgon to stomp his right foot by flicking a switch on his back.Right now I have Medusa ,Black Bolt and Triton in my sights  and would love to have a Lockjaw figure as well although I don’t think one exists : (  Enjoy the pics!

UPDATE! ToyBiz Iceman MOC!

I was finally able to snag one up and while the card itself is a little dinged up,the figure is in mint condition!I’ve since taken him out of the packaging so expect some comparison pics of this and the old Iceman I picked up a while ago.I’m usually not that picky about the condition of my action figures but the translucency of this figure is where all the appeal is at, so I had to have a crispy clean/clear one to add to my collection of 90’s ToyBiz  figures.Tomorrow morning i’ll have an all new ToyBiz figure up and published while most of the upcoming week will showcase the rest of what Buzzchuck over at Action Figure Adventures sent me 😉

1995 Marvel ToyBiz – Cameron Hodge

Out of the slew of great figures sent over to me from Buzzchuck over at Action Figure Adventures, this particular one stood out to me the most .What I love most about  acquiring an action figure that I know nothing about is jumping onto the internet to do a little  research on it. Such was the case with this Cameron Hodge figure. It turns out Cameron Hodge was an old college roommate  of  Warren Worthington and even worked together with Angel to create X-Factor, a team dedicated to protect humans from rogue mutants.Corrupt with jealousy towards Angel,Hodge arranges for Worthington’s death in order to gain access to his funds and create his own group called The Right, however,Angel survives, makes a pact with Apocalypse  and returns as Archangel.Aware of Angels resurgence,Hodge makes his own pact with a demon named N’Astirh and is granted immortality.Hodge and Archangel would meet again in a battle that would leave the immortal Hodge decapitated, ultimately leading to his severed yet still living head being attached to a cybernetic robot body. There’s tons more to read up on regarding this character as well as a two part mini-series (The Phalanx Covenant) from the X-Men animated cartoon that prominently features Cameron Hodge, shedding more light on his background.

Crazy Shout Out To Buzzchuck (Kevin) At Action Figure Adventures!

About a month ago my buddy Buzzchuck (Kevin) commented on my 1984  Storm Shadow figure and offered to send me a replacement waist for him seeing as how the waist on the one I posted about was  really yellow. He said he would be sending it out in November along with a couple of other things and I couldn’t have been more psyched about it!Buzz ,you made my day buddy!I had been looking for a replacement waist piece for my Stormy forever it seems but never pulled the trigger and now thanks to Buzz I can scratch that off my list 😉 “A  FRIGGIN’ DOLLAR GENERAL JOE !!!!” That’s what I yelled out after pulling out this ridiculously elusive DG Shipwreck figure!Unbelievably cool package you sent me here Kevin and I couldn’t be more appreciative of it!From ToyBiz ,80’s COPS figures to a carded Iron Man 2 figure, there’s so much more to go over but i’ll let the pic do the talking for now until I can get down to posting about them in greater detail. If you haven’t already,be sure to check out Buzzchucks blog at http://actionfigureadventures.blogspot.com/.He’s got a little bit of everything over there as well as some great insight on the toy collecting hobby! Thanks again Buzzchuck(Kevin)!P.S. I’ll be putting a little something together for you soon now that I have your address 😉
