A little while ago,my sister had a garage sale and this awesome DVD went unsold! She priced it at $1 and nobody bit,so she gave it to me :)My daughter and i stayed up late last night to watch it and it was quite the experience.Being able to relive this iconic film that made such a huge impression on me as a kid, with my kid was truly priceless! She got a kick out of “Data” ,and thought that “Sloth” was the ugliest thing she had ever seen LOL!She also thought the mother of the two Fratelli brothers was a man up until the scene where one of them calls her mom 😀 The DVD has some cool extras like outtakes, and the full length “It’s Good Enough” Cindy Lauper video with all the WWF wrestlers in it. The artwork on the cover is killer as well!
And now for my review of G.I. Joe Retaliation’s Daughtry,i mean Joe Colton figure. It’s kind of odd to own a Bruce Willis action figure. And it’s not even a “Bruce Willis in his prime” action figure either, you know back when he was cool. This is a more greyed , Viagra commercial-like version of the 80’s action flick icon.AARP jokes aside,it’s a pretty cool figure.Joe Colton looks like something out of the Walking Dead series, with his shoulder holster and pump shotgun. That said, this really doesn’t feel like a G.I. Joe figure.A Bruce Willis figure yes,Joe Colton not so much.I even took some pics of Colton next to some of the other Retaliation Joes and he just didn’t look right.IDK,maybe it’s just me.Believe it or not i still haven’t seen the movie,so my opinion could be swayed.
I took some time to organize my Joes and most of my other 3 3/4 figures.I’ll be moving soon ,hence the reason why all of my figures are in a plastic drawer thingamajigger pretty much scattered.I decided to break them out like i used to when i was a kiddo and do some meticulous organizing. Now i’ve got them all separated with their corresponding accessories/weapons,in plastic baggies and ready to go. Oh,and i finally snagged up a Joe Colton fig!Joe Colton……sounds like something i used to drink back in the day.Anyways, hope to have pics up soon!
Here’s a cool idea for those of you who like to keep those hard to stash action figure cardbacks. Pull those suckers out and take pics of the card art, upload them to Flickr and add some effects!Use them as background wallpaper or print them out and get them signed at Comic Cons and toy shows! They also make great portraits when framed 😉
These figures are too cool not to get their own posts here on AF&T. I wonder what new plans lie ahead in regards to this particular line of figures?Hopefully they’ll decide to release brand new sculpts instead of re-releasing old character repaints.
I’d like to start this post off by wishing every toy collecting dad as well as non-collecting ones,a very Happy Fathers Day!A Happy Fathers Day also goes out to the unsung heroic uncles out there that go out of their way to spoil their nieces and nephews as well as provide that much needed additional support they may need throughout their childhood.I mean, who else is gonna put them up on the action figure scoop ;)Today we have a much needed addition to the collection and one that helps me bolster my movie based Avengers team. All i need now is Hawkeye and Black Widow.I might have to snag up a more movie appropriate Iron Man as well, but this cool version sent over to me a while back by my buddy Buzz over at Action Figure Adventures, should be more than a suitable place holder i think. As far as the Thor figure goes,i like it.Don’t love it,but i like it.I would have liked for him to have a cape… but i won’t complain, even though i just did.The paint on this figure really stands out and the fact that he comes with the standard Mjolnir hammer is a plus.He also has an articulated neck, allowing him to look up and down, which i thought was pretty cool. Not a bad figure overall.I recommend 😉
I’m finally able to post about this awesome guide to everything Avengers!Flipping through the pages,i realized that i’m so out of the loop it isn’t even funny. While the major players are ever present, characters like Hulkling,Machine Man and a slew of other heroes and villains were all new to me.In retrospect, this book is just what the doctor ordered.I’ve got lots of catching up to do.Sorry about the blurriness of some of the photos.I tried to make them all as legible as possible.

With a little bit of birthday cash left over,i decided to snag up a GL figure to go along with my MOS Superman and DKR Batman.I could have gone and played it safe with a normally outfitted GL,but opted to go with this awesome repaint! As far as i know this version is neither comic or movie accurate, but no worries here.In my universe, this is “bad ass” Green Lantern! The paint mixed with translucent plastic and dabs of glitter make this truly unique figure stand out nicely.A more menacing Hal Jordan.I also dig the glossy green mask on this particular head sculpt as opposed to the usual flat green that was used on most of the other movie figures.Enjoy the pics!
