G.I. Joe Retaliation-Firefly

This is IMO one of the most underrated figures in the Retaliation line of Joes. This figure captures the essence of “Firefly” in many ways.He just looks rugged. The shots of the figures on the card backs don’t do them any justice.Once I got the “Ray Stevenson” rendition of Firefly out of it’s package and posed,it instantly rocketed up to “Top 10  Favorite Figures” status. The inclusion of the Blast Board is a huge plus because it is essentially a vehicle,a throwback to 1984 when Hasbro  packaged(although in a box) Zartan with his Customized Chameleon Swamp Skier! My only issue is the inclusion of the second head sculpt.Funny thing is I love them both so I don’t know which one to sport first.

Kre-O G.I. Joe-Checkpoint Alpha (unboxed)

Initially i was going to hook up a real cool background to snap some some extra cool pics of  Law and Order dueling it out with Firefly but i wasn’t  really feeling it.So i opted for the simple “toy-on-the-shelf” pic and added a couple of  Best-Lock military figs to fill out the checkpoint tower.I’m still not crazy about Lego figs but the fact that these are representations of Joe figures that were super popular when i was a kid make these Kre-O sets all the more appealing.Enjoy the pics!

KRE-O G.I. Joe-Checkpoint Alpha

Pretty psyched about this little set.I remember when i first started up this blog,it seemed like everyone was heavily into Lego figures and sets.I never got into them much but always said that if a  G.I. Joe LEGO-esque set/figure was ever released that i would quickly jump on that band wagon.I’m not sure how many more ore of these sets i’ll pick up ,but i’m definitely looking into picking up some of the single figures.I got another Ninja post to publish this week  but after that i’ll be sure to post some pics of this set assembled.

G.I. Joe ROC-Gunship w/Firefly (red helmet variant)

With G.I. Joe Retaliation  coming out next month, i thought  it’d be a good idea to revisit the first film,ROC,by posting some movie screenshots along with some of the toys associated with the film. The Cobra Gunship made several appearances in the ROC film, predominantly in the beginning scenes and i believe towards the end as well. Apparently there were two releases,or variations of the gunship. One featuring a Firefly with a black helmet and this red helmet version. There is a  compartment on the top of the ship that holds three explosives. When activated, these small bombs drop from another small door located in the ships underbelly.Another cool feature are the small handles underneath the ship. You’re able to have your figures hang onto them directly or attach one of those cool zip lines that come with most of the Ninja Retaliation figures.I was lucky enough to find this on clearance years ago for about 5 bucks, not sure how much they go for now.But definitely pick one up if you get the chance. While not as iconic,it’s pretty much an updated, more futuristic version of the Cobra Fang imo.Enjoy the pics!

G.I. Joe 2005 – (V13) Firefly 12/3-12/9

Another great figure to come over from Buzz from Action Figure Adventures is this amazing 13th version of Firefly! You really can’t improve on the original 1984 design so going with just  the different paint scheme  was a safe way of  keeping this figure as true to the older version as possible, and it works in alot of ways! This Firefly is part of the “Crimson Guard Force” set, hence the red camouflage. Thanks Buzz(Kev)!
