Marvel 3 3/4 Infinite Series-Iron Man

Back when I was heavy into reading comics, late 80’s early 90’s,I only knew of three Iron Man armors. The original red and gold, Silver Centurion and the oversized red and gold 90’s armor. Since getting back into toy collecting the amount of Iron Man armors has grown exponentially, and no one has benefitted more form this than Hasbro. With so many different action figure renditions of shell head, It’s hard to not get sucked into the variety vortex. Currently I own the Marvel Universe classic and 90’s style because of my childhood connection with the two. Buzzchuck also sent me a carded Mark 5 figure a while back, which up to now had been my most updated version of Iron Man. I knew that I would soon need to change with the times for the blogs sake and picture taking purposes. I would hate to display an original styled Iron Man next to a Heroic Age Captain America. I’m maniacal that way. It just wouldn’t look right. So while I am still trying to add some of the older styled figures, especially ones who appeared in the Secret Wars Saga, I will also be looking for updated versions of them. It’s a tall task but my birthday is less than a month away and hopefully someone from the fam will read this and provide me with some much needed action figure aid in my ventures 😀   But enough with the rambling rhetoric and on to the figure! I was curious as to what this figure would look like out of package and very pessimistic. I had seen it before in Heroic Age three packs, but with this new 3 3/4 Marvel Infinite Series release I was able to snag him up individually. The plastic used for this figure is very soft, almost rubbery but the detail is amazing! I’m not crazy about the thigh cuts/articulation but it works. In fact I had a great time posing this figure as the articulation allows for limitless pose-ability. The paint is spot on and the ports/repulsors, and there’s a lot of them, all have nice glowing effect to them. The card itself is pretty damn snazzy for those of you who like to display your figures carded.Enjoy the pics!

MU Wolverine Origins-Wolverine (brown suit)

I’ve been after this figure almost as long as I’ve been after the 80’s Secret Wars version. This IMO is the ultimate Wolverine action figure! It’s that good. A brown suited Wolverine figure with this much articulation would have blown our minds as kids. If ever (and “ever” could mean very soon) I choose to sell off some of my collection, this one will be a definite keeper. In fact I’m thinking about setting up a website  to start getting rid of some stuff online and hopefully make a couple extra bucks in the process , and when I do, this guy is staying put 🙂 Everything from the facial expression down to the included sword, ala the  90’sToy Biz  version. The scale is perfect, too. The Wolverine Origins line  spawned some really cool  versions of Wolverine, this being one of them. Enjoy the pics!

Marvel Universe-Colossus

Colossus was another MU figure that I missed out on when it released a while back .This is the newly released figure,i believe,as it came sans the TOP SECRET S.H.E.I.L.D. S.H.I.E.L.D.  file card most of the initial MU figures came with back in the day. Another big time hole filled with the addition of this awesome looking figure .

Another cool aspect of this particular Colossus figure is the hinged head sculpt which allows colossus to look up and down!

Marvel Universe- Daredevil (Dark Red Variant)

Finally! I’ve needed a Daredevil in the collection for quite some time and this one did not disappoint. Daredevil is to the Marvel Universe what Low Light is to the Joe Universe as far as popularity, IMO. Such a simple, yet powerful costume design, with the iconic double D’s on the chest area(was there a better place to put it?) and the trademark horns on the head sculpt. I loved these particular waves of MU figures, with the little TOP SECRET files and character ID cards. I love any kind of written description or BIO cards included with my action figures. It is a lost gimmick as far as I’m concerned. Even the new Joe figures roll file card-less these days. I can’t front, though, I would have preferred the lighter shade of red but this figure blends both colors nicely and has great shadowing. Who doesn’t love Daredevil? Unless your name is “who” then you love DD just as much as I do 😉

Marvel Universe-Constrictor

I really need to pick up more villains from the Marvel Universe line.In fact,if i’m not mistaken,Constrictor here is the only Marvel Universe baddie  in my collection. That’s what i get!You see I  boycotted the line right around the time they stopped coming with stands and file cards. Not only that but the figures they were releasing were all too obscure for me.Recently figures like Kraven the Hunter and Kang have caught my eye but those guys are nowhere to be found now.Oh well.Looks like Constrictor’ll be rolling one deep until i can get him some back up.
