Avengers Assemble-Gamma Fist Hulk

Whether or not you like the new  Avengers Assemble Gamma Fist Hulk may come down to a matter of perspective and how you look at him. Literally . From the top down he’s as menacing and awesome looking as any other 3 3/4 Hulk figure out there, head sculpt wise .The strangeness sets in the minute you look at that same head sculpt from a different angle . Head on and from underneath, Hulk’s expression changes into a more laid back , relaxed demeanor . It’s  odd , but in no way does it take away from this action figure’s overall presence and coolness. I’ve seen  video reviewers criticize everything from the small head sculpt on down to the flatness of his fee t! Yes , you heard right-the flatness of his feet ! LOL . Everybody is entitled to their own opinion I guess , although, I’d go as far  to say that  the feet are actually a strong point for this figure as they feature the  very much adored rocker joints . The body sculpt lacks the shading most MU figures sport , but makes up for it in detail . The muscles on this figure have muscles. Something the movie version really lacked.I’m also digging the brighter green. Also, this is a big figure as far as the  3 3/4  scale goes and pretty much dwarves most of the recent Hulk figures that have been released. A word of warning . If you do decide to pick this figure up,go easy on the leg joints at first. My right leg seemed to be stuck in place while the left moved back and forth , no problem . After messing around with it a little, I realized that I could get the right leg to move back and forth by moving the left one with it  at the same time . After that, the pose-abilty is pretty much endless.Articulation is another upside to this figure . Their haven’t been any really impressive Hulks on store pegs  since the latest MU  release, but hopefully this figure will change that and get the praise that, IMO, it fully deserves.Enjoy the pics!

3.Sinister 2.Sabretooth

Down to my favorite 3 of the bunch!Sinister ,who I remember vividly from past X-Men and X-Force comics as well as from appearances in the X-Men animated series,is number 3 on the list.Sadly the light up feature does not work, but still and all another nice addition to the collection. At #2 we have Sabretooth!Who doesn’t love Sabretooth ?This particular ToyBiz rendition of Wolverines famed arch nemesis has the neat battle damage gimmick ,ala the old school He-Man/Skeletor figures.

7.Junkpile 6.Grizzly

Here we have an X-Men from the future (Junkpile) and an X-Force Baddie (Grizzly). Not very familiar with either of these guys but that’s the joy of collecting.Finding characters you know nothing about lights a fire under your behind and motivates you to do some diggin’!Junkpile is part of X-Men 2099.A mutant with the ability to create himself entirely out of metal,Junkpile is one awesome looking action figure!Press down on his head and Junkpile explodes into a …well… into a junk pile.Grizzly used to be part of Cables “The Wild Pack” and then later ..according to WIKI…became a serial killer. So I guess that makes him a baddie.Or a meanie at best.Another awesome piece o plastic ,though, and addition to my ToyBiz collection!

9.Stryfe 8.Gideon

Stryfe is up there, high on the list  because I already have one.Only this one came complete and in a bit better shape!Gideon comes in at number 8 cuz I really don’t know much about him.As a kid,X-Force was pretty much the last series of comics I  collected(thanks to those eerily drawn hands) before ultimately calling it quits, and while I remember Gideon vaguely,he was never a favorite. The figure still looks great though and i’ll have to check out some of those old X-Men animated cartoons to see if Gideon ever made an appearance in them.

11 new Marvel ToyBiz Figs!- 11.Apocalypse & 10.Kang

As I mentioned recently, just the other day I won an Ebay auction and really made out scoring 11 ToyBiz figures for the low price of 5 bucks w/ Free Shipping !I’ll be posting them in a certain order though.I’ll start with my least favorite and then work my way up to number 1.Out of the 11 ,two I already have, the Apocalypse figure being one of them.Hence the low ranking. He’s still an awesome figure though.Kang,on the other hand, was a mystery to me until I did a little digging.Turns out this particular version of him is from the Avengers -United They Stand series. Not very fond of this look but Kang is due for an update. So there you have it.Figures number 11 and 10 on the list.Stay tuned for 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2 and 1 😉

Marvel Toybiz-Wolverine (Ninja Force)

I acquired this figure from Buzz over at Action Figure Adventures via trade and i’m diggin’ it.This guy fits right in with the rest of  my Toybiz figures although I like to display him without the Ninja gear. It’s a little redundant for Wolverine to weild any weapons imo but I do like the sword. Also,i’ve recently won a whopping 11 Toybiz figs on Ebay for  5 bucks total, shipped! That is a whopping deal for me!It’s fun to say/write whopping.Stay tuned for that 😉

“We’re movin’ out..!”

It was about a couple of  years ago today that i decided to give this whole Blog thing a try.I had already been a fan of  sites  like  “Revenge from the Cosmic Ark” and Reis’s  “Hey,Look At My Toys!” http://dorkhorde.blogspot.com/.Great blogger’s like Debs from http://www.vintageactionfigures.net/  ,jboypacman from the http://theclawfulpunch.blogspot.com/   and Colin of  http://super-dupertoybox.blogspot.com/  “Super Duper Toy Box”  fame were among the first to comment on Action Figs and Things. These guys not only inspired me,but kindly accepted me into their blogosphere and for that i consider them to be not only a support group of sorts ,but also my friends.Thank you!Since then my circle of  fellow bloggers has grown and more friendships have formed as a result.Ya gotta love Hobby over at http://monstercafesaltillo.blogspot.com/  …so controversial though 😉 Jdub over at http://jessewg.blogspot.com/  “Metal Borgs”…where have you been?!?.Buzzchuck(Kevin) from http://actionfigureadventures.blogspot.com/  whom i honestly believe owns every action figure ever created in the 80’s!Dan over at  http://plasticmayhem.blogspot.com/  who when you least expect it,drops in on you with a comical ,chuckle inducing comment 😉 Love his video game posts, too.Chris still has the most http://ridiculouslyawesome.wordpress.com/  comic collection and also has the distinction of being the first WordPress blogger i ever reached out to. http://figurefanzero.com/   has some of the most awesome reads this side of the blogosphere and http://combollectoractionfigurerev.blogspot.com/   pics are priceless!Oh,can’t forget  http://jasonvorhees2.wordpress.com/  for aiding me in my quest to finally obtain a vintage Thundercats figure(Panthro) among other cool things via trade! And it all started here.In this home from where i am typing this up as we speak.Solitarily sitting on an adjustable, rolling office chair in front of an old Dell computer with my family in the distance giving me all of their support, albeit in their own  special way. They, especially, have had my back throughout all of this ,knowing how much this hobby means to me.And while i’m sure there where instances where they thought to themselves “Man,what the heck does my 36 year old dad see in those little plastic action  figures?!?”,sparingly, not once did they make it evident. My family truly is heroic!Tomorrow will be our last day here, and until we can get  established in our new home ,posts will be few and far between.I find it funny though, how my very first blog post was about my Secret Wars Captain America figure and my final(well until i’m fully moved into the other place)post before i move will also be about a Captain America action figure. I didn’t even intend for it to be that way,it just happened. So as my family and i bid farewell to what has been our “humble abode”,I leave you with The Avengers “Shield Launcher” Captain America! This one’s quickly becoming a personal favorite of mine!Enjoy the pics and i’ll see ya on da flipside!
