New G.I. Joe Retaliation Figures Spotted!

Just spotted the 2013 release of Snake Eyes(awesome),Katana-something Roadblock(menza, menza),Storm Shadow(looks horrible),Flint(bland) and a Red Ninja!I’m not sure if any of you have a WEGMANS in town but that’s where i saw em’.I’ll keep my eyes peeled some more 😉

Playmates Terminator Salvation T-700?

I’m not 100%  sure of  it  but I think I got it right. There are so many different versions of these guys floating around that unless you do your homework, it’s hard to tell them apart. This one came  in a package  Jason Vorhees sent over to me a while back and I’m just loving it.Jason got me started with TF’s and now it seems like I’ll be hunting down a couple of these Salvation figures as well ;)I loved Terminator flicks as a kid and I was more than glad to add this iconic figure to my collection.I’m hoping to put together a display made up of  figures from the Aliens,Terminator and Predator films and this might not be so hard to do.Most of those figures can be had for  a reasonable price on ebay and acquiring at least 3 figures from each line should be an attainable task.A thank you goes out to Jason Vorhees for this awesome figure as well as  for the host of other goodies which I have yet to post about!

G.I. Joe Retaliation-Roadblock

Even before  Retaliation toy concept pics and art started filtering into the internet,I always said that Roadblock would be the first figure that I would pick up from the line.I mean who wouldn’t want “The Rock” as Roadblock action figure displayed  on their toy shelves?I certainly did and couldn’t wait for the Retaliation first wave release. All of a sudden, Retaliation toy previews started to make their way on to the internet and while most of the figures looked pretty cool, there was something terribly wrong with the figure that I most wanted.”What the freak is that inside of  Roadblocks right hand and is it removable?”A question I’m sure all action figure collectors and G.I. Joe enthusiasts asked themselves after looking at the preview pics on TNI as well as other action figure news sites.Flash forward to the present.Since It’s release, this figure has been ridiculed, laughed at and passed up by many a toy collector.I too joined the parade at one point or another and took jabs at the hideous  seemingly surgically attached  clunk of plastic in the right hand of  Retaliation Roadblock, but then began to take a liking to it after  spotting a couple at my local Wal-Mart.The sculpt was bad a@# and the camouflage pants w/balck tank top reminded me of the Triple T tank Sgt. Slaughter figure.I would display the crap out of this figure holding his giant cannon anyways so the black hand attachment  became a moot point. The pros slowly began to outweigh the cons until I finally snagged him up and boy am I glad I did!I absolutely love this figure 🙂 By far one of the sickest sculpts(right hand aside) in the  Joe universe. There is a presence about this figure when you stand him next to other Joe’s,kind of like the effect Sgt.Slaughter had on my 80’s collection as a kid. While this version  is not the most popular amongst collectors,It’s still the first release of  iconic superstar Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock and i am more than happy to add this awesome action figure  to my collection 😉

G.I. Joe 25th Ann. Roadblock 2/06-2/12

These next couple of days will see more than it’s fair share of Joes as i  have relapsed and ultimately found myself relentlessly hunting down any and everything G.I. Joe related. On Saturday i totally came up short in my quest to find  Stormie’s Renegade figure and while i did see other Renegade figures on the pegs none struck my fancy.A bunch of Firefly’s, Dukes and way too many Cobra Commander’s to mention. Not a 30th Ann. or left over POC in sight and it seems as though every last ROC figure has finally disappeared from clearance shelves.Hence the Plasma Dragons impulse purchase.I did see, however, on a lower shelve at Toys R Us a couple of ROC  Rip Attack Jet Storm Cycles with Snake Eyes and a Cobra Rip Attack vehicle as well going for 4 bucks a piece and i may swing by there later on today to pick those up( if someone hasn’t already).Dealing with the Joe shortage in my area has led me to check eBay for loose Joes to fill my collection and today we have none other than G.I. Joe 25th Ann. Roadblock.I picked this guy up loose for about 4 bucks  and free shipping so even though he came without a file card and one accessory(knife) i still got a good deal on him.I actually had some extra accessories laying around and decided to gear R.B. up for these pics.
