I’ve been after this figure almost as long as I’ve been after the 80’s Secret Wars version. This IMO is the ultimate Wolverine action figure! It’s that good. A brown suited Wolverine figure with this much articulation would have blown our minds as kids. If ever (and “ever” could mean very soon) I choose to sell off some of my collection, this one will be a definite keeper. In fact I’m thinking about setting up a website to start getting rid of some stuff online and hopefully make a couple extra bucks in the process , and when I do, this guy is staying put 🙂 Everything from the facial expression down to the included sword, ala the 90’sToy Biz version. The scale is perfect, too. The Wolverine Origins line spawned some really cool versions of Wolverine, this being one of them. Enjoy the pics!

1.Omega Red/ Marvel ToyBiz Pics!
Omega Red!I loved watching Wolvie and Red go at it in the comics!I love this figure but hate the fact that it arrived with a missing/broken tentacle 😦 Oh well,no biggie. It’s still an awesome figure! Now i’m wondering if ToyBiz ever made a Cyber and Lady Deathstrike figure? Enjoy the pics, there’s a lot of them.
3.Sinister 2.Sabretooth
Down to my favorite 3 of the bunch!Sinister ,who I remember vividly from past X-Men and X-Force comics as well as from appearances in the X-Men animated series,is number 3 on the list.Sadly the light up feature does not work, but still and all another nice addition to the collection. At #2 we have Sabretooth!Who doesn’t love Sabretooth ?This particular ToyBiz rendition of Wolverines famed arch nemesis has the neat battle damage gimmick ,ala the old school He-Man/Skeletor figures.
5.Forearm 4.Crimson Dynamo
I finally have someone for my ToyBiz War Machine to beat up on with this sick Crimson Dynamo figure. While I like the older versions of CD a bit better, this one really stands out and came complete with armor and chest blast!Forearm is another cool X-Force figure which narrows down my needs to complete the entire series.
7.Junkpile 6.Grizzly
Here we have an X-Men from the future (Junkpile) and an X-Force Baddie (Grizzly). Not very familiar with either of these guys but that’s the joy of collecting.Finding characters you know nothing about lights a fire under your behind and motivates you to do some diggin’!Junkpile is part of X-Men 2099.A mutant with the ability to create himself entirely out of metal,Junkpile is one awesome looking action figure!Press down on his head and Junkpile explodes into a …well… into a junk pile.Grizzly used to be part of Cables “The Wild Pack” and then later ..according to WIKI…became a serial killer. So I guess that makes him a baddie.Or a meanie at best.Another awesome piece o plastic ,though, and addition to my ToyBiz collection!
9.Stryfe 8.Gideon
Stryfe is up there, high on the list because I already have one.Only this one came complete and in a bit better shape!Gideon comes in at number 8 cuz I really don’t know much about him.As a kid,X-Force was pretty much the last series of comics I collected(thanks to those eerily drawn hands) before ultimately calling it quits, and while I remember Gideon vaguely,he was never a favorite. The figure still looks great though and i’ll have to check out some of those old X-Men animated cartoons to see if Gideon ever made an appearance in them.
11 new Marvel ToyBiz Figs!- 11.Apocalypse & 10.Kang
As I mentioned recently, just the other day I won an Ebay auction and really made out scoring 11 ToyBiz figures for the low price of 5 bucks w/ Free Shipping !I’ll be posting them in a certain order though.I’ll start with my least favorite and then work my way up to number 1.Out of the 11 ,two I already have, the Apocalypse figure being one of them.Hence the low ranking. He’s still an awesome figure though.Kang,on the other hand, was a mystery to me until I did a little digging.Turns out this particular version of him is from the Avengers -United They Stand series. Not very fond of this look but Kang is due for an update. So there you have it.Figures number 11 and 10 on the list.Stay tuned for 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2 and 1 😉 |
Marvel Toybiz-Wolverine (Ninja Force)
I acquired this figure from Buzz over at Action Figure Adventures via trade and i’m diggin’ it.This guy fits right in with the rest of my Toybiz figures although I like to display him without the Ninja gear. It’s a little redundant for Wolverine to weild any weapons imo but I do like the sword. Also,i’ve recently won a whopping 11 Toybiz figs on Ebay for 5 bucks total, shipped! That is a whopping deal for me!It’s fun to say/write whopping.Stay tuned for that 😉
Recent Acquisition #2-1997 ToyBiz Hercules(T.V. Series)-Mesomorph
It took me a while to figure out what line of figures this guy was from but thanks to http://www.collector-actionfigures.com/dash/home/ i was able to track down its origins. It seems like Toy Biz made an action figure line for pretty much all that existed for much of the 90’s.I’m pretty sure if i searched hard enough ,i’ll find a 90’s Toy Biz action figure of me.This is another cool figure included in the trade package sent over to me by Mr.Vorhees, and it is none other than Mesomorph from the live action TV series Hercules.Remember Mesomorph? No?Yeah me neither, but he is one sick looking little figure and fits in nicely with my other Toy Biz figures on display. He has a cool little action feature that make his arms flail up and down .While i am not a huge fan of the show, the figures look pretty cool and may be worthy of a second look if your into Greek Mythology. In other words, you don’t have to be a fan of the series to enjoy these Toy Biz creations 😉
1995 Marvel ToyBiz – Sunfire
As much as I love these 90’s ToyBiz figures,I feel like they’ve taken over the blog as of late and I really can’t wait to do some Joe posts.I’ll still have them on my radar but I’m pretty confident that this will be the last ToyBiz related post that I’ll be doing in a long time.Buzzchuck really did me a favor in sending me this awesome figure seeing as how I had been wanting to pick it up for a while now.Sunfire was a character that I got familiar with back in the early ’90s as he made several appearances in various issues of X-Men comic books I owned as a kid.The cool thing about it is that this is is exactly how he looked. While alot of these ToyBiz figures are based off of the X-Men animated series,I can’t say that I remember seeing Sunfire in any of the episodes.I love the figure, though, and gotta give crazy thanks to Buzz for passing him on to me 😉
